Culinary Camps

Now embarking on our ninth year, Camp Culinary Creations offers four amazing culinary programs, as we proudly present of brand new Creations In Cake Series. This award-winning program involves our budding pastry chefs in a unique combination of the culinary arts and your choice of an additional camp elective, including arts & crafts such as canvas sewing, weaving projects, woodworking and paint projects, stained glass, jewelry design, and more! For those campers not interested in the crafty side of things, we also offer two alternative electives that involve engineering and invention projects or a multi-sports mini camp.  Taught under the supervision and guidance of talented chefs and assistants, each camp will involve both whole-group morning lessons and demonstrations, as well as afternoon individual cooking/design sessions with an impressive 1:8 instructor to student ratio…providing several hours daily devoted to the culinary arts and ensuring a one-of-a-kind camp experience! All of our culinary campers and their families are invited to join those enrolled in the Camp Science Safari camps (held at the same location) for our final-day festivities each Friday from 12:00pm-1:00pm...an awesome finale to an amazing week of camp!  Camp Culinary Creations has gained award-wining status due to our great staff, awesome curriculum, and the ability to offer what is truly the most customized camp experience available, as each of our culinary camps are really three camps in one!  Here's how it works:

Cupcakes, Candy, & Pie...Oh My! (Brand New Camp!)

 Introduction To Cake Decoration/Candy Making/Basic Pie Creation (No Prerequisite Required)

Culinary Camp {Ages 6-12}

Camp Fee: $375.00   Limited Time 15-Year Anniversary Price $225.00!

A showcase for your sweet tooth abounds in this fun, yet challenging camp, as our junior pastry chefs explore an introduction to the art of dessert making techniques, candy making, cupcake decorative elements, and more! Daily culinary lessons involve one day of pie making as campers whip up a decadent chocolate mousse pie topped with whipped cream and both infused and topped with finely chopped toffee bits.  An exploration into the art of candy making includes home-made, chocolate covered toffee, creating design elements out of melted modeling chocolate, and our infamous "sidewalk chocolate" lesson. And finally, three days will be devoted to the art of cupcake decorative techniques, including fondant and modeling chocolate sculpting designs atop creative cupcake creations, airbrushing, creating theme-oriented cupcakes, and more.  Friday finds our junior pastry chefs involved in a “Creative Cupcakes” challenge, where they showcase their amazing cupcakes designed to incorporate all the concepts covered throughout the week...all to be displayed for family and fellow campers during our Friday festivities... a sweet ending to an awesome week of camp!

Note: Though campers will have take-home baking projects (all materials provided), the cupcake portion is about decorative element creations, not baking, as most kids have baked cupcakes and really just want to learn elaborate design techniques they wouldn't typically have the opportunity to create.

Marvelous Mini Cakes (Brand New Camp!)

Culinary Camp {Ages 7-12}

Here’s an amazing opportunity to explore the fascinating world of cake decorating!  This introductory design course allows students to learn awesome new design concepts, such as buttercream icing piping and coverage techniques, the use of fondant for both coverage and creating multidimensional design elements, beginning airbrushing skills on both buttercream and fondant, sculpting techniques, and learning to begin designing theme cakes.  Our junior pastry chefs will not only learn these fun and challenging skills, they will put them to the test through creating multiple mini decorative single-layer cakes, including both elegant and whimsical concepts, in this awesome class unparalleled in the kids culinary arena...come join the fun! Note: This class fulfills the required  prerequisite to attend our Fabulous Fondant course.

Intermediate Cake Decoration Course (Prerequisite: Marvelous Mini Cakes)

Culinary Camp {Ages 7-12}

Camp Fee: $375.00   Limited Time 15-Year Anniversary Price $250.00!

Become your own “cake boss” during this intermediate camp devoted to the art of cake design, as our focus will be on learning more advanced concepts such as designing sugar flowers, using fondant for both coverage and decorative elements, creative design concepts, air brushing, designing/sculpting with chocolate, cereal treats, and more as students will be challenged to create a two to four tier cake around a theme and design of their choice. Friday finds our junior pastry chefs involved in a “Creative Cakes” challenge, where they showcase their amazing cake designs incorporating all the concepts covered throughout the week...to be displayed during our Friday festivities.  This award-winning camp inspires all budding pastry chefs to rise to the challenge! Note: Completion of our Marvelous Mini Cakes camp or our Creations in Cake camp from summer 2011 is required in order to enroll in this course...sorry, no exceptions.  This class fulfills the required  prerequisite to attend our Topsy-Turvy advanced design course.

Topsy-Turvy Cake Creations (Brand New Camp!)

Culinary Camp {Ages 8-12}

Camp Fee: $375.00   Limited Time 15-Year Anniversary Price $275.00!

Elevate your skills during our amazing new advanced cake decoration program, as our elite junior pastry chefs rise to the "topsy-turvy" challenge of creating and designing a themed, four-tier cake unlike anything you've ever seen children create!  Each tier must incorporate a variety of required advanced creative and design elements...all of which must enhance, yet remain cohesive with, their cake's overall theme.  Students in this course will pull from every skill learned in our previous courses and take them to the next level in order to create their breathtaking masterpieces...to be showcased for all to enjoy during the Friday festivities. Note: Completion of our Fabulous Fondant camp is required in order to enroll in this course...sorry, no exceptions.
